This Privacy Policy explains how Satchel handles information in the Satchel mobile application, website at satchel.click, and related support channels. It applies to information processed by Satchel, not to third-party websites, app stores, map providers, or services you choose to connect to, which have their own policies.
02 / Information we may process
Depending on the features you use, Satchel may process information you choose to provide, such as your journal entries, travel dates, destination names, photos, notes, and support messages. The app may also process app settings, device or operating system information, app version, crash information, and basic usage information needed to keep the service working.
If you use location-related features, Satchel may process location information only as needed to provide that feature and according to the permission you grant. You can control location access in your device settings. Satchel does not need access to your location for the app to function unless a feature explicitly requires it.
Your content is yours. Satchel does not sell your journal entries, photos, or travel records. Review the app’s current permission prompts and settings before enabling optional features.
03 / How we use information
We may use information to provide and personalise Satchel, save and display your travel records, respond to support requests, diagnose crashes, maintain security, prevent misuse, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations. We use only the information reasonably needed for these purposes.
04 / When information is shared
We may share limited information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyse, support, or distribute Satchel. These providers may process information only to provide services to us and under appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Satchel, our users, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information or use your private travel records for targeted advertising.
If you use a third-party service, share a journal entry, or open an external link, that third party may process information under its own privacy policy.
05 / Your choices
You can edit or delete content through the app when those controls are available. You can manage optional permissions, such as location or photo access, through your device settings. You can also choose not to provide information, although some features may not work without it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that Satchel controls by contacting [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
06 / Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate our business, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and meet legal requirements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and how you use Satchel.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so keep independent backups of important memories.
Satchel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
